When trying to lose weight is exercise or diet more important?
I’m currently re-starting an exercise and diet regimen after about 2 months off. I know that both are important for long term weight loss, but I find that when I exercise every day my body holds on to the fat much more than if I just restrict my calories.
I am thinking that this is because I restricted my calories too much to begin with. I am actually not in horrible shape, I do a decent amount of exercising, walking, etc, and I have a lot of muscle, especially in my legs, so I’m not totally horrible on fitness (but I could definitely do better). So now, I am planning on eating 2000 calories per day ( I weight about 270 currently) and exercising 60 (cardio) minutes 3x per week. I know that once I go down I will have to revise that, but I will do that as I need to. Does this sound like a good plan?
Exercising and dieting are both important parts when losing weight, one won’t work without the other if you want a nice look. You are doing the right thing though, 2000 calories and cardio 3 times a week will definitely help you lose weight, and if you workout with that it will help you get a toned look…
Also I would advise not exercise every day…your body needs time to recover….
